I have always been an avid photographer, but became passionate about photography about 4 years ago. My primary profession is in health care, and I found myself off of work for 6 weeks. It was spring, and I was overcome by the beauty that surrounded me in my own yard. I started taking pictures, lots of pictures. While I admit that I am a nut about color, I prefer black and white images. Most people will quickly acknowledge the beauty of a colorful garden display, but few appreciate the incredible intricacy, complexity, uniqueness, and often sensuousness of each individual flower. The black and white media can capture that without the distraction of color.
